Metadata harvested for the purpose of producing an annual NSDI establishment, maintenance and development monitoring report

On December 16, the European Commission conducted a process of metadata harvesting from the NSDI geoportal for the purpose of producing an annual NSDI establishment, maintenance and development monitoring report. For the first time, this process was performed completely automatically, through the NSDI catalog service.

The metadata of 248 spatial data sources available through the NSDI geoportal were harvested, the data of which was defined by the INSPIRE spatial data themes. The total number of harvested metadata is 92 sets, 22 series and 134 network services. There was a 15% increase in metadata compared to last year’s report. Based on the harvested records, performance indicators for the establishment of the NSDI will be determined and presented to the National Contact Point for NSDI and INSPIRE to verify the results obtained.

According to Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1372, the full report will be made available to the public by 31 March 2020 at the latest.
