Project „Guidelines for spatial data transformation according to INSPIRE specification“

On 29.10.2014. in State geodetic administration workshop named „Guidelines for spatial data transformation according to INSPIRE specification“ was held in the organisation of the National contact point. Representatives of the NSDI subjects which represents institucions whose spatial data covers some of the themes from Annex I and II of NSDI Laws, ie. INSPIRE Directive, representatives of NSDI Sector and Faculty of Geodesy were participated on the workshop.

The occasion for the workshop was the presentation of the project with the same name which was signed with Faculty of Geodesy from University of Zagreb. The project leader Ph.D. Vlado Cetl presented the first stage of the project which includes data analysis, primarly from SGA, as a NSDI subject, and then the other subjects whose data belongs to themes from Annex I and II. The project includes analysis of the available softvare solutions for transformations, free and comercial.

The workshop developed a concrete discussion which was concluded with thinking that surely the first step must be to contain spatial data available to the public through the use of services, and raising awareness that all NSDI subjects,  which in their scope have spatial data that establish or maintain, are mandatory, according to Law on NSDI (NN 56/2013) participate in the establishment, maintenance and development of the NSDI.

The project should be finalized by the end of this year and will then be presented at one of the workshops, to NSDI subjects and members of the working groups of the NSDI.
