The 13th session of the NSDI Council was held

On December 15, 2025, the 13th session of the 7th convocation of the Council of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) was held at the premises of the State Geodetic Administration. The session was chaired by the President of the Council, the Director General of the State Geodetic Administration, Antonio Šustić.

As part of the agenda, a presentation was delivered by Iva Gašparović, PhD, who presented to the members of the NSDI Council the overall work of the Working Group for Spatial Plans within the NSDI, as well as the final document of the working group, Recommendations for Registering Spatial Plans in the NSDI. With this, one of the activities of the NSDI Council planned for the previous year was fulfilled. The NSDI Council adopted the presented Recommendations for Registering Spatial Plans in the NSDI.

Subsequently, the NSDI Council unanimously adopted the Plan of Activities for the Establishment, Maintenance and Development of the NSDI for 2026, presented by Ljerka Marić, MSc, which outlines the activities carried out in the previous period as well as those planned for 2026. The emphasis is on continuity in fulfilling statutory obligations, strengthening capacities and raising awareness of the NSDI, ensuring coordinated work of NSDI bodies and the National Contact Point (NCP), and maintaining and developing the technical framework of the NSDI, which includes the NSDI Registers, the NSDI Geoportal, and the GeoHrvatska viewer and mobile application.

One of the newly planned activities is the establishment of a thematic working group dedicated to issues related to high-value datasets within the NSDI. This topic was presented to the members of the NSDI Council by Tomislav Ciceli, MSc, who, through his presentation, outlined the legal obligations related to high-value spatial data as well as the proposal of the working group members.

At the conclusion of the session, the President of the NSDI Council announced the SDI Days 2026 conference and invited all attendees to join and actively participate in the conference.
