National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI)
As soon as we enter this world, we begin building our perception of the space and time surrounding us. Spatial intelligence is an intelligence humans develop as a capability of spatial memory, spatial visualization and spatial reasoning. We are often not even aware when we are solving spatial problems and using spatial reasoning as an ability to orientate ourselves in our surrounding environment during everyday activities. But, if we had no ability of spatial reasoning, we would be lost in space.
In order to make the transition from subjective spatial reasoning to collective, and to allow economy and industry to develop more efficiently, a standardization of spatial data, services, processes and other relationships linked to spatial data are performed as important directions of development. Due to a massive application of mobile spatial data viewers and global navigational systems, spatial literacy became a necessity in everyday life. INSPIRE and National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) are initiatives striving to raise the use of spatial data to a higher level and enable more efficient management and protection of the environment and facilitating faster economic growth.
This web page is intended for NSDI subjects, users of spatial data and other citizens that wish to be informed about establishing NSDI in Croatia, so that all of us together can contribute to the development of a geo-enabled society.
