The third session of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Council held

On December 7, 2021, the third session of the seventh convocation of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Council (NSDI) was held in a virtual environment.
 
President of the NSDI Council, Damir Šantek, PhD, and member of the NSDI Council Ljerka Marić, MsC, informed the members of the NSDI Council and others present about the prepared strategic document "Report on the implementation of measures and activities from the National Spatial Data Infrastructure 2020 Strategy and the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Strategic Plan for the period 2017-2020."
 
The main objective of the Strategy was to provide guidance on the establishment of the NSDI, with particular reference to the implementation of Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE) (OJ L 108 / 1,25.04.2007), for the period from 2017 to 2020, and includes the definition of the vision, mission, analysis of the current situation, NSDI development priorities, review of strategic objectives and time frame. The Strategic Plan sets out the operational objectives to be achieved over the years, as well as indicators for assessing progress in development.

Following the discussion on the results of the NSDI 2020 Strategy, the said Report was unanimously adopted. President of the Council Damir Šantek, PhD, emphasized that the engagement of all NSDI subjects is still needed in order for all activities and goals arising from the NSDI Act to be carried out. After the adoption of the Report, it will be sent to the Government of the Republic of Croatia for adoption.
 
The successful organization of the SDI 2021 Day was also mentioned at the Session.
