3rd NSDI and INSPIRE workshop

3rd NSDI and INSPIRE workshop organised by SGA was held on 28 May 2013 at the Ministry of Administration. After over two workshops organized together with INSPIRATION project, this is a workshop in which the SGA, as a national focus point, continuing their work with the NSDI subjects. The workshop was attended by 45 participants. The main theme of the workshop was NSDI registries and metadata. Existing Croatian NSDI Metadata Specification is currently being revised and proposals of NSDI spatial data registry and NSDI subjects register were presented. All documents are currently on the public hearing and comments from the NSDI subjects on presented topics are welcome and expected till 10 June 2013. Comments can be sent to infonipp@dgu.hr.

The NSDI Law, which entered into force on 18 May 2013. (NN 56/13), was presented once again. The Law establishes a direct and meaningful connections with full EU INSPIRE Directive.

The National report, made under Inspiration project, was presented. During a presentation the technical implementation of the NSDI which lags behind the legislative was draw to attention as well as the lack of NSDI geo-portal.

Colleagues from CEA (Croatian Environment Agency) presented their experiences in collecting metadata for environmental sector.

Overview on the implementation of INSPIRE, with special reference to the risk, was presented by the Mr. Vlado Cetl in front of JRC.
