30th NSDI workshop completed the third cycle of NSDI workshops entitled “Inclusion of local and regional self-government units in the NSDI”
The thirtieth NSDI workshop, organized by the State Geodetic Administration, completed the third cycle of NSDI workshops under the common name "Inclusion of local and regional self-government units in the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI)". The workshop was held on April 20, 2021, as a virtual workshop, and was intended for representatives of local and regional self-government units, as well as for students of the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb, and a total of 81 participants participated. For the first time, students of the Faculty of Geodesy had the opportunity to participate in the NSDI workshop, which is an important step in building and future development of the NSDI.
In July 2020, the State Geodetic Administration initiated activities to include local and regional self-government units in the NSDI in order to meet the obligations defined by the NSDI Act (OG 56/13, 52/18, 50/20). In order to ensure the fulfillment of these obligations, the SGA is implementing the project "Capacity building for the establishment of the NSDI", which is co-financed by the European Social Fund, within which the 30th NSDI workshop was organized.

The 30th NSDI workshop was opened by Antonio Šustić, Deputy Director General of the SGA, and those present were also greeted by Ljerka Marić, MsC, Head of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Sector. After a short introduction, lectures were given by SGA staff Tomislav Ciceli, MsC, Tanja Rodin, Msc, and Iva Gašparović, PhD, followed by a short interaction with the participants realized through a short questionnaire. The results of this questionnaire showed that further investment is needed to achieve some of the main objectives of the NSDI, such as the availability of spatial data of public authorities and the widespread use of NSDI products (NSDI Geoportal, GeoHrvatska browser).
