The Register of the NSDI Subjects is a list of NSDI subjects that are required by the NSDI Act to participate in the establishment and maintenance of NSDI. The Register of the NSDI Subjects contains basic information about NSDI subjects and provides a link to related spatial data sources. All data is compliant with the Metadata Catalog. According to the Act, the Register of NSDI Subjects must contain:
- the name, OIB and address of the NSDI subject,
- the unique subject identifier assigned to the NSDI subject by the National Contact Point
- the legal basis on which they are responsible for the spatial data sources reported in the NSDI
- the names of the NSDI spatial data sources that are within the jurisdiction of the subject
- spatial data theme referred to in Article 9 of this Act which the reported spatial data sources belong, and
- date of registration of the subject in the NSDI Subject Registry
The Register of the Spatial Data Sources represents the place where all spatial data sources that are part of the NSDI under the NSDI Act are consolidated. The Register of the Spatial Data Sources contains basic information about spatial data sources and provides a link to related NSDI subjects as well as a link to source metadata in the NSDI Metadata Catalog. According to the NSDI Act, the Register of the Spatial Data Sources must contain:
- the name and summary of spatial data sources
- the unique source identifier assigned by the National Contact Point
- the name of the subject responsible for the spatial data source
- geographical coverage of spatial data sources
- limitations on access and use of spatial data
- date of registration of the spatial data source in the NSDI Spatial Data Source Registry
