The participants of the workshop entitled "Inclusion in the National Infrastructure of Spatial Data (NSDI)" were representatives of local and regional self-government units as potential future subjects of the NSDI. About 70 participants attended the workshop.
The aim of the workshop was to encourage local and regional self-government units to join NSDI and report spatial data sources from their jurisdictions to NSDI Registers as the first step of joining NSDI. The ultimate goal is to increase the availability of spatial data from the local and regional level and thereby encourage the sharing and reuse of data as well as the development of the spatial data infrastructure itself.
In the introductory part of the workshop, an introductory lecture was held on NSDI, the legal framework and the obligations arising from it. This was followed by a lecture on the main product of the NSDI, the national Geoportal of spatial data and the NSDI Metadata Catalog, and at the end a short summary and overview of the data included in the NSDI framework and how to register them in the NSDI Registers was given.
