The 12th session of the Council of the NSDI was held

On March 4, 2025, the 12th session of the 7th convocation of the Council of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure was held at the premises of the State Geodetic Administration. The meeting was chaired by President of the NSDI Council, Antonio Šustić, the Director-General of the State Geodetic Administration. The new members of the NSDI Council were introduced during the introductory segment.



At the 12th meeting of the NSDI Council, amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the NSDI Council were presented, two presentations were held, and new members of the NSDI Board were elected. Also, the 2025 Activity Plan for the Establishment, Maintenance, and Development of the NSDI was presented in detail. The Plan includes activities grouped by categories, with some of the most important being:
 

• Preparation and submission of the Report on Activities on the Establishment, Maintenance, and Development of NSDI for 2024 to the Government of the Republic of Croatia
• Submission of the Report on the establishment, maintenance, and development of NSDI for 2024 in the Republic of Croatia (Country Fiche) to the European Commission, prepared by the National Contact Point
• Organizing a basic workshop for NSDI stakeholders at the local, regional, and national levels, and an advanced workshop for existing NSDI subjects
• Continuous maintenance and improvement of the NSDI website, NSDI Registers, NSDI Geoportal, and GeoCroatia
• Increasing the number of available network services
• Preparation of Recommendations for Recording Spatial Plans in the NSDI
• Establishment of a thematic working group dedicated to the issue of high-value datasets in the NSDI.

 

The results achieved by Croatia in monitoring metadata compliance were highlighted, as well as Croatia's recognition as a good practice example. The President of the NSDI Council thanked all the members for their cooperation and contribution to the work of the NSDI Council.
