NIPP - 16th NSDI workshop held

The sixteenth NSDI workshop entitled “State Geodetic Administration as a subject of NSDI” was held on October 10, 2019 at the premises of the State Geodetic Administration. This workshop was intended for employees of the State Geodetic Administration who are responsible for the spatial data sources under the jurisdiction of the State Geodetic Administration.

The workshop was opened by Tomislav Ciceli, MSc, and all present were greeted by the Head of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Division Ljerka Marić, MSc. In the introductory part of the workshop, Tomislav Ciceli, MSc, emphasized the importance of the State Geodetic Administration as a subject of NSDI, and the goal of the workshop itself is to make SGA an example of best practice in NSDI.

The second part of the workshop was dedicated to practical work with leader Tanja Rodin, MSc. Thus, the participants of the workshop, through the three objectives covered in the introductory lecture, worked to improve the quality of spatial data sources that are within their competence.

Finally, it was concluded that the State Geodetic Administration, as the National Contact Point, is continuing its work to raise awareness of the quality of the reported spatial data sources, and that more workshops will be held on this topic.
