State Geodetic Administration launched a series of workshops for the inclusion of the local and regional self-government units in the NSDI

The State Geodetic Administration as the National Contact Point of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) has decided to launch a series of workshops within the project "Capacity Building for the establishment of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure" starting on 2.2.2021, which will be held in the form of virtual workshops via the virtual platform Microsoft Teams.

The purpose of these workshops under the common title "Inclusion in the National Spatial Data Infrastructure" is to assist local and regional self-government units in understanding the NSDI and the process of inclusion in the NSDI, and to get acquainted with their obligations defined by the NSDI Act (OG 56 /13, 52/18, 50/20). Workshop participants, representatives of local and regional self-government units, were assigned and grouped to participate in the workshop according to territorial division (eg neighboring units).

The workshops will consist of a series of lectures that will cover topics necessary for quality inclusion of subjects in NSDI - from the introduction to NSDI, through the NSDI Registers to the Metadata Catalog on the NSDI Geoportal and the GeoHrvatska browser. Each workshop will also include a short questionnaire, and at the end there will be a discussion in which participants will be able to ask questions and ask for help in resolving doubts so that they can successfully complete the procedure and continuously perform tasks specified by the NSDI Act (OG 56/13, 52/18, 50/20).

The workshops will be held as an integral part of the implementation of the project "Capacity Building for the establishment of the NSDI" co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF). One of the main goals of the project is to strengthen the capacity of employees of local and regional self-government units in order to be actively involved in the establishment and implementation of NSDI and to raise the level of knowledge about NSDI at local, regional and national level with the aim of providing better services quality.
