Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) are pleased to announce that the call for proposal to support regional cooperation in the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) is now open.
The call "Implementation of the Second Cycle of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive: achieving coherent, coordinated and consistent updates of the determinations of Good Environmental Status, initial assessments and environmental targets" - "DG ENV/MSFD Second Cycle", has a budget of EUR 5 819 322.
INSPIRE is explictity mentioned as one of the areas to be addressed:
…improve the management of and access to data used in the assessments and from monitoring programmes, in accordance with MSFD Art. 19(3) and the INSPIRE Directive (Directive 2007/2/EC establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community) and, where possible, make it available via the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet).
