The purpose of this working meeting was the contribution of experts from member states in developing a new monitoring and reporting system in accordance with the new Reporting Decision. The meeting was attended by 11 members, representatives of member states, representatives of the European Environment Agency (EEA), DG Environment of the European Commission (DG ENV) and the Joint Research Center (JRC). On behalf of National Contact Point of the Republic of Croatia, the meeting was attended by Tanja Rodin, MSc.
The new monitoring system will be based on indicators that will be calculated automatically from metadata in each harvesting from the national catalogue to INSPIRE geoportal. Reporting will be based on the online system of country fiches, which will include graphical and numerical visualization of calculated indicators.
2019 will be a transition year in which the existing INSPIRE dashboard will be used for the monitoring process, while for reporting purposes, the JRC will develop a textual part of country fiches and guidelines that will be tested by the working subgroup members in January and updated till 15 May 2019.
