Country Fiche of the Republic of Croatia on the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive and the use of the NSDI published together with the results of the annual Monitoring

In April 2021, the European Commission published Country Fiche of the Republic of Croatia together with the results of the annual Monitoring of the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive for 2020.

The summary report provides an overview of the country's progress in the various areas of implementation of the INSPIRE Directive. It includes the current situation regarding the organizational structure, functioning and coordination of the NSDI, the use of the NSDI, the spatial data sharing agreement and the cost-benefit analysis. It also includes the results of the annual Monitoring from December 2020. Since 2019, the monitoring and reporting process has been fully automated using the INSPIRE Geoportal and the INSPIRE reference validator for processing metadata collected from the national discovery service that is part of the NSDI Geoportal. The 19 monitoring indicators that measure the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive are divided into five categories: availability of spatial data sets and services, metadata conformity, spatial data set conformity, network service conformity and data set accessibility through view and download services. The results of the annual Monitoring for 2020 continue to indicate the ubiquitous need to increase the accessibility of spatial data sets through network services as well as the level of compliance of the data themselves according to INSPIRE specifications.
