The Director General of the State Geodetic Administration, Antonio Šustić, welcomed the students. The Head of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Division, Tomislav Ciceli, MSc, presented definitions of basic terms, a brief history of development, and the mission and vision of NSDI.
Tanja Rodin, MSc, provided a more detailed explanation of the types of available web services and their use within the NSDI context. Information about the NSDI Geoportal and the Metadata Catalogue were presented by Iva Gašparović, PhD, including a demonstration of how to use discovery, view, and download services via the NSDI Geoportal.
Ana Geceg, Head of the Department for NSDI coordination and interoperability, introduced students to the GeoCroatia browser and mobile application, which aims to bring NSDI spatial data closer to the general public.
The aim of these presentations was to familiarize students with the potential of the NSDI, both from the perspective of students and as future professionals in the field of spatial data. With this presentation of the NSDI, the long-standing good cooperation between the State Geodetic Administration and the Faculty of Geodesy in Zagreb continues.
