The meeting took place at the Albert Borschette Congress Center and brought together representatives of EU Member States, the European Commission, and experts involved in the development and maintenance of the INSPIRE infrastructure. The Republic of Croatia was represented at the meeting by Tanja Rodin and Tomislav Ciceli, as representatives of the National Contact Point for the NSDI and INSPIRE.
The main topics of the meeting were:
- the proposal of simplifying the INSPIRE framework within the GreenData4All initiative, including an overview of the legislative process,
- the transition of INSPIRE infrastructure components, with an emphasis on the timeline, implementation phases, and technical solutions (The European Data Portal, GeoDCAT-AP, and the INSPIRE Registry),
- interoperability of spatial data in the context of broader European digital policy,
- preparation of the Maintenance and Implementation Work Programme (MIWP) for the 2027-2030 period.

As part of the discussion on the proposal to simplify INSPIRE, Member States actively participated by presenting their positions, especially highlighting the need to ensure continuity of existing systems and mechanisms. The discussion was dynamic and constructive, with an emphasis on finding solutions that would enable simplification of the framework while preserving the stability and functionality of the existing infrastructure.
During the meeting, the importance of a coordinated approach and cooperation among Member States in the upcoming period was further emphasized, especially in the context of planned changes and the development of the INSPIRE initiative.
The conclusions and positions of the Member States expressed during the meeting will be forwarded for further consideration within the relevant EU bodies and processes.
