- 15th October workshop for working group members,
- 16th lOctober 7th NSDI and INSPIRE Day.
The organization has taken the SGA in cooperation with the Faculty of Geodesy, and the City of Zagreb, City Office for Strategic Planning and Development.
The first day was reserved for members of the NSDI working groups for which was organized a practical workshop. The workshop was opened by the Deputy Director of the State Geodetic Administration g. Vladimir Majetić.
The workshop consisted of two practical segments. In the first, working group members gained knowledge for harmonization of data models using Hale, a open source solutions. For example, cadastral parcels are taken which belongs to the topic "Cadastral parcels" Annex I.
In the second part of the workshop was demonstrated how, with the use of the available services on the NSDI Geoportal, data can be access, and managed. Open GIS solution Quantum GIS was used and some simple spatial data analysis was made. The workshop was held by assistants of the Faculty Saša Vranić and Goran Jurakić led by Prof. Ph. D. Vlado Cetl.
The workshop was attended by 54 members of the working groups.
The first day ended with informal gathering in areas of Zgforum organized by the City Office for Strategic Planning and Development.
The second day 7th NSDI and INSPIRE day was held on where participants welcomed by prof. Ph. D. Damir Medak, Dean of the Faculty, Jadranka Veselić Bruvo, head of the City Office for Strategic Planning and Development and Ph. D. Danko Markovinović, director of the State Geodetic Administration. Mr. Markovinović officially opened the 7th NSDI and INSPIRE day.
The opening ceremony was completed by young talents of Elly Basic music school performing three songs on guitar and accordion.
During the second day we had the opportunity to listen to 20 presentations distributed through IV sessions that covered various topics related to the NSDI; the status at the national level, results, difficulties and deadlines, the subject of open data, public sector data access as well as an overview of the activities of certain subjects involvement in the establishment of the NSDI.
Analysis of the conference participants showed that the largest number came from the public authorities, which is to be expected because they are NSDI subjects, but not far behind are academic and private sector in which increased interest in NSDI is noticed.
This year's conference was attended by the largest number of participants, 170 of them, which is a clear indicator of proximity and familiarity of the NSDI community of spatial data users, and increase interest in the exchange of experience of the NSDI subjects in the fulfillment of legal obligations.
We are sure that the next year's SDI days display and exchange of experiences of stakeholders in the process of establishing NSDI be more present, and we hope to justify one of the many positive comments and remain "beautiful synergy of different professions".
