The participants of the workshop entitled "Geoportal and NSDI Metadata Catalog" were representatives of local and regional self-government units as new NSDI entities that are in the process of entering metadata into the NSDI Metadata Catalog. 42 participants attended the workshop.
The aim of the workshop was to explain to new NSDI subjects the process of creating and updating metadata in the NSDI Geoportal, i.e. the Metadata Catalog. The ultimate goal is to increase the number and quality of metadata records on the NSDI Geoportal in order to increase the availability of spatial data from the local and regional level and to make them sufficiently clear and transparent for all users.
In the introductory part of the workshop, an introductory lecture was held on the Geoportal and NSDI metadata profile, followed by a lecture on creating and updating NSDI metadata with explanations, recommendations and examples of filling in certain metadata elements.
